Finding vets in New Zealand
GetListed lists vets in every region, from Whangārei to Invercargill. Pick your city above to see who works near you. A person checks every listing before it goes live, and you contact the business directly, with no lead fees and no middleman.
Before you hire
- Get two or three written quotes and compare what each one includes.
- Check licences, registrations and insurance for the work you need.
- Ask for recent examples of similar jobs, and read independent reviews.
- Agree on price, timing and payment terms in writing before work starts.
Common questions
What should I do in a pet emergency after hours?
Call your usual vet first. Many clinics share an after-hours emergency service, and the phone message will tell you where to go. In larger cities there are dedicated 24-hour animal emergency centres.
How do I know a vet is qualified?
Every vet working in NZ must be registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand and hold a current practising certificate, which you can check on the Council's register.
